Terri Clark Photography

erri Clark is a Sylva-based portrait and wedding photographer with deep roots in Southern Appalachia and an affinity for the soft mountains she calls home. But her sensibility is a broad one, informed by a fine art aesthetic and a photojournalist’s eye. She is also influenced by time spent learning her craft in the desert southwest.

I sought to blend Clark’s warm affection for her subject matter with significant emotional elements of her southwestern experience to communicate an accurate picture of Clark’s business, which is an extremely personal one.

The focus of the campaign is a Mexican or Latin American milagro charm. These charms, often made of tin, are used as votive offerings. Their shapes are representative and have specific meanings. “Eye” or “Eyeglasses” charms are associated with Santa Lucia, and can be used as an offering meant to bring healthy eyesight, but also as a prayer for broader vision, or watchfulness.
